Quilt Square #44

This is the fabric Emilee picked out. She also made her own wish, with a little help from me. (She came up with her own wish, though!)

Her card reads:

I wish you have lots of friends.

The bottom says Hi XXXXXXXX (again, keeping the name a secret)

Quilt Square #43

My daughter's decided they wanted to contribute to Baby K's quilt, too! I'm so glad they think about her and wanted to do something special for her. I had bought a bunch of different type fabrics. They both chose a square and created their own wish.

This one is from Amanda. I think she did a great job! Don't you just LOVE the turtle print!

Her card reads:

I wish you so much happiness & joy.

The purple tag has her name on it, but since we're keeping it a secret, I've erased it.

Quilt Square #42

This fabric is from my sister, Amber, in Missouri. She is a nurse and used one of her favorite scrub tops to make a square for Baby K's quilt. Thank you so much! It really means a lot to us!

We're moving right along with these quilt squares! Up to #33 already!

This one is from the Anderson's in Florida.

The card includes a poem written by Sherri Anderson:

Will come home before too long.

Quilt Square #29

This fabric was sent to us from the Moseman family in Texas. I absolutely LOVE the poem. It really puts into words what I think daily.

The card reads:

A Clue

I wonder what you look like; I wish I had a hint
Are your eyes big and round or little with a squint?
Is your hair dark and straight or lighter with a curl?
I try to picture you in my mind around the world.

Is your smile filled with teeth, or still all gums?
Are you just a few months old, or are you nearly one?
Do you have 10 fingers and toes or maybe only 8?
I know it will not matter, I know I'll think you're great!

Do you have a head of hair, or has it all been shaved?
What things have you done without, what hardships have you braved?
I know it doesn't matter, I'll love you cause you're you
But as I wait and dream, I wish I had a clue!

Quilt Square #28

This really cool fabric is from the Higgs family in Ontario, Canada. I love the print!

comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes,
rainbows to follow the lcouds, laughter to kiss your lips,
sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag,
beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being,
faith so that you can believe, confidence for when you doubt,
courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth,
love to complete your life."

I Samuel 1:27
"For this child I prayed and the Lord hath answered."

Our wish for you is a happy home, lots of smiles, hugs and plenty of giggles.
May you love and be loved.

Quilt Square #25

This funky fabric was sent to us by the Gallegos family in California.

The card reads:

My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold on,
And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this is my wish.

By Rascal Flatts (One of my favorite country music groups)

Quilt Square #24

We are getting the coolest squares! This one is from the Gibbens family in Arizona. She said she picked this fabric because her 9 1/2 year old daughter loves stuffed animals. I love it!

The card reads:

I Believe in You

Aren't you the little one
That hid in my arms afraid of the thunder?
Are these the little hands
That held so tight to mine?
Didn't we both agree you'd never grow up?
And now here we are
And here you go
Of all the things I want to say
The thing you really need to know is...

I believe in you, I believe in you
Everything you are
Everything you are becoming
And I believe in you, I believe in you
So spread your wings and fly
On the winds of knowing
I always believe in you.

So many prayers we've prayed
So many dreams to get to this moment
Now this is where we stay
While you go change the world.
But I'll be where I have always been
Up in the stands cheering you on and
Singing this song
A song the very God who made you
Has been singing all along.

And when you rise and when you fall
I'll still believe in you
Just close your eyes and hear me calling
I believe in you
Oh, I believe in you!

Quilt Square #23

This cool square was sent to us by the coffee-loving Askew family. They said they sent this square because it reflects their family. Ours too (well, me at least!)

It makes me feel blue.
I'll hold on to my faith,
Even try to be strong.
My little China ladybug
Will come home before too long.

Quilt Square #17

This unique fabric was given to us by Valerie Whiteside in Florida.

I Hope You Dance

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat; but always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed

Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens
Promise me that you'll give fate a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I HOPE YOU DANCE!
